Woundcare
The woundcare nurses appointment is held in Mehiläinen hospital in Töölö/ Pohjoinen Hesperiankatu 17 C 4th floor from Monday to Friday. The reservations can be made by telephone or via internet.
The nurses are specialized in woundcare treatment. Our woundcare treatment is flexibly organized and is possible to be arranged with short notice. Patients come with or without a doctors referral. A referral is compulsory for a refundment from KELA.
The woundcare services include a wide range of different methods from conservative to surgical procedures if needed. Getting treatment is possible as a private patient or through occupational health services or insurance.
Acute wounds that require treatment are e.g surgical or traumabased wounds, frost bites and burns. Chronic wounds can be diabetic sores, pressure wounds due to circulation problems such as peripheral vascular disease or combinations of both.
In Mehiläinen hospital/Töölö it is possible to get consultation services throughout the treatment period from doctors specialized in plastic surgery, traumatology, orthopedic-, vascular- or foot surgery. The wound treatment methods used are the newest and most efficient such as V.A.C and single use negative pressure wound therapy PICO. In addition laboratory services and diagnostic imagings are in use.
In cases of severe diabetic sores it is possible to arrange treatment in co-operation with a diabetesdoctor and/or nurse and a foot therapist. Physiotherapy services are available as are the woundnurse house calls if needed.
