Our sports physiotherapists are here to support you and help you achieve your goals in exercise and sports.
Preventive sports physiotherapy – progress in your sport and avoid injuries
Sports physiotherapy should be started even before any challenges arise as it helps prevent stress injuries and progress as a physically active person.
Here is how sports physiotherapy proceeds
We will prepare a personalised training programme with you to increase the physical effort and develop various areas in an ideal way.
The balance of exercise, rest and nutrition is important, especially for physically active people, who have a lot more in their lives than just sports. We take your situation into account holistically and provide advice on recovery and nutrition.
You will always receive personal feedback and individually designed exercises. They allow you to correct any deficiencies in body control and muscle balance that can expose you to stress injuries.
We will help you find the right ways of movement to ensure that you can progress safely in your sport.
Rehabilitative sports physiotherapy – a sports physiotherapist will help you return to your sport
Injuries, stress injuries or pain do not need to undermine your active lifestyle and goals as an athlete.
For example, if your shoulder becomes painful while playing golf or if your Achilles tendon has been operated on, we can help you to return to your beloved sport.
- Substitute and maintenance exercises. To begin with, your physiotherapist will plan exercises for you that can be performed while the injury is still fresh.
- Increasing the physical effort. As you recover, easy exercises will be used to restore your muscle strength and functional capacity.
- Return to Sports training programme. When returning to your sport, a carefully planned, increasingly demanding 4–6 week training programme is carried out. After this, you can safely return to normal training.
You should not quit rehabilitation halfway through as it increases the risk of the injury recurring immediately.
