Occupational dental care
Occupational dental care is an essential part of the comprehensive occupational health care services provided by Mehiläinen. Mehiläinen’s professionals understand that a healthy mouth and good oral hygiene are crucial to overall health and well-being. Not only do they support employees’ daily performance and work ability, but they also have a positive effect on the atmosphere of the entire work community.

Why choose occupational dental care?
With Mehiläinen’s services, employees have access to regular dental check-ups and treatments that can easily be coordinated with work schedules. This prevents unnecessary absences and supports employee engagement.
In addition to instructions and advice for maintaining oral health at home, Mehiläinen’s professional dentists and dental hygienists also provide preventive treatment to prevent the development of more serious oral health problems.
Occupational dental care often enables quick appointments in urgent matters, which reduces waiting times and ensures timely help in acute dental problems.
Healthcare professionals can help employees maintain their oral health, which in turn has a positive effect on their work ability, reducing sickness-related absences.
How occupational dental care works in practice
At Mehiläinen, we are committed to providing high-quality occupational dental care that supports the health and well-being of both your employees and the entire work community.
Registration
Employees can register for occupational dental care through a programme provided by the employer or ask for more information from the company’s human resources department.
Booking an appointment
The employee can book an appointment for a Mehiläinen dental clinic by phone or easily online through Mehiläinen’s appointment booking service.
Regular check-ups
We encourage all employees to utilise regular dental check-ups and the preventive services offered by Mehiläinen to maintain and take care of both their oral health and overall well-being.
Cooperation with the employer
Employees can utilise the benefits provided by the employer in occupational dental care, which may include partial or full reimbursement of treatment costs. The benefits are tax-exempt for the employee and tax-deductible for the company.
Agreeing on occupational dental care
The extent and arrangement of care services are always agreed upon individually for each company. The provision of occupational dental care requires a written agreement on the arrangement of dental care for employees. The dental care agreement specifies how much of the employees’ dental care costs the employer reimburses annually. The sum can be anything between EUR 50 and 3,000. Mehiläinen’s occupational dental care agreement always includes basic dental care.
Dental care can also be included in Epassi, Smartum and Edenred wellness benefits. In this case, the employee is able to pay for dental care at the reception with a wellness benefit. Kela’s direct reimbursement can be deducted when paying with a wellness benefit.
Occupational dental care is a tax-exempt benefit for the employee and can be a 100% tax-deductible expense for companies. Please note that the contracting company is responsible for ensuring whether additional services are tax-exempt and tax-deductible. For more information, please see vero.fiExternal link
