OmaMehiläinen app accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the OmaMehiläinen mobile app. The statement was prepared on 30 April 2024. We undertake to ensure the accessibility of our services according to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019).
Accessibility assessment
The accessibility of the service has been assessed by a third party. Any deficiencies identified in the assessment are listed below and will be corrected as soon as possible.
Digital service accessibility status
Partially meets accessibility requirements (WCAG criteria 2.2 level AA). The main deficiencies in the online service are described later in this statement.
The accessibility of the website is continuously evaluated with the help of accessibility tools. Accessibility is taken into account in the development of all new features.

Contents or functions that are not yet accessible
Users may notice accessibility issues on our site. Below is a list of the ones we have detected and identified.
Perceptibility
- Missing or inconsistent headers (WCAG 1.3.1).
- The app has empty focuses (WCAG 1.3.1).
- Mandatory fields are not always properly indicated (WCAG 1.3.1).
- Some text is not focusable (WCAG 1.3.1).
- Some relevant information is not read when a button is focused (WCAG 1.3.1).
- The number of filters in appointment booking is not communicated to screen readers (WCAG 1.3.1).
- Text grouping in appointment booking is unclear to screen readers (WCAG 1.3.1).
- PDF files cannot be accessed with screen readers (WCAG 1.3.1).
- Users are unable to change the app’s orientation (WCAG 1.3.4).
- An incorrect entry in a new family member’s personal identity code is only indicated by a colour (WCAG 1.4.1).
- Some of the contents do not change when the text size is changed (WCAG 1.4.4).
Operability
- The appointment search field cannot be accessed with screen readers (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.3).
- The time limit for appointment booking cannot be adjusted (WCAG 2.2.1).
- The slide control cannot be used with screen readers (WCAG 2.1.1).
- Some buttons cannot be used with screen readers (WCAG 2.1.1).
- Some links cannot be opened with screen readers (WCAG 2.1.1).
- The appointment search listing has a keyboard trap (WCAG 2.1.2).
- The Hide from Home screen button in the context menu has a keyboard trap (WCAG 2.1.2).
- When viewing renewed prescriptions and laboratory referrals, the text reading order is incorrect (WCAG 2.4.3).
- Buttons do not always have descriptive names (WCAG 2.4.6).
Understandability
- The user is not informed of the minimum number of characters when searching for health information (WCAG 3.3.2).
- When booking an appointment, the identification of an incorrect field in the booking data is partially unclear (WCAG 3.3.3).
Robust
- Not all buttons are correctly marked as buttons or are mislabelled (WCAG 4.1.2).
- Not all buttons have associated labels (WCAG 4.1.2).
- Health information search results are not clearly indicated (WCAG 4.1.3).
- Some pop-ups are not communicated to screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3).
- The calendar does not function optimally with screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3).
- Screen readers are not always notified of view changes, successful operations, or when character limits are reached (WCAG 4.1.3).
