Treatment of eye diseases
The treatment of eye diseases is based on an individual diagnosis and is the responsibility of an ophthalmology specialist. In addition to the usual examinations by an ophthalmologist, special eye laboratory tests may be needed to confirm the diagnosis, such as OCT (optical coherence tomography), visual field tests, corneal tomography, or various types of photography. Treatment often involves eye drops, but in some cases, surgical procedures such as cataract surgery or treatment of retinal diseases are necessary.
