Katariina Gehrmann has been appointed Mehiläinen’s new CMO. Katariina has extensive experience in both private and public healthcare.
Katariina Gehrmann, M.D., Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Econ.) has been appointed as the new CMO of Mehiläinen. Gehrmann, who will take up her post at the beginning of May, is currently on parental leave from the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), where she is Director of Digital and Innovation Services of the department of Children and Adolescents. Before joining HUS, Gehrmann worked as Chief Medical Officer at the City of Helsinki and has experience in clinical work from both the public and private sectors. She has also worked as an international healthcare consultant and as a researcher at Aalto University’s Department of Industrial Economics.
"We are delighted to have Katariina join the Mehiläinen team. Her solid experience in various fields of healthcare in Finland and internationally is an excellent starting point for the role of growing and developing CMO at Mehiläinen," says Mehiläinen’s CEO Janne-Olli Järvenpää.
Gehrmann is looking forward to her new role:
"The work of CMO at Mehiläinen offers an interesting perspective on Finnish and international healthcare. This role combines my personal passions, namely the development of healthcare, quality and patient safety, which are also at the heart of care and nursing. It’s great to be part of Mehiläinen’s journey and cooperate with professionals in Finland and around the world," Katariina says.
In her position, Gehrmann reports to Markku Näreneva, Managing Director of Public Healthcare, and is a member of Mehiläinen’s Management Team. Kaisla Lahdensuo, who previously served as CMO at Mehiläinen, will take on a new position within the company and will be responsible for specialised health care services in Sweden.
