Long-term sick leaves reduced by anticipation and cooperation
Genelec Oy is a family business established in 1978, which designs and manufactures high-quality speakers mainly for demanding professional use. Genelec's speaker factory is located in Iisalmi, where they wanted to invest in the well-being of employees and its development.
Mehiläinen and Genelec tightened their cooperation with the aim to develop the well-being of the musculoskeletal system of factory workers where the work is done - at Genelec's speaker factory. The occupational physiotherapist started regular monthly factory visits, where she evaluates and develops the work environment and instructs workers both individually and at group level.
With the new practice, the general well-being of Genelec's employees has increased and long-term sick leaves have significantly decreased.
