Professionals selected Mehiläinen as the most attractive private employer in the healthcare sector
Press release 17 September 2024
Mehiläinen improved its ranking in Universum’s Most Attractive Employers survey among professionals as the most attractive employer in the healthcare sector, ranking at the top of private healthcare services. Among all employers in the health and pharmaceutical sector, Mehiläinen ranked second right after the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.
In Universum’s annual employer image survey, more than 1,250 healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals selected Mehiläinen as one of the most attractive employers in the industry. In the survey, employers’ attractiveness was assessed based on four key factors: the employer’s reputation, compensation and career advancement opportunities, people and culture, and job characteristics. Mehiläinen improved its ranking and rose to the top of private healthcare services, while also placing second in the overall ranking for employers in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector.
“It’s great to see that our development activities have yielded positive results for such an important target group as professionals who already work in the industry. We have worked tirelessly for several years to develop our employee experience, management and employer image, and our personnel truly deserve thanks for the hard work. This year, we renewed our employer value proposition based on our personnel’s experiences and promised to be the best workplace for professionals on a lifelong mission,” says HR Director Tatu Tulokas from Mehiläinen.
“This is great news! In our public healthcare services, we decided to dedicate this year to maintaining exemplary supervisory work and expressing appreciation. It’s great to hear that our efforts to ensure high quality and appreciation are also reflected directly in Mehiläinen’s employer image. Our personnel is definitely our most important resource. That’s why we invest in their well-being, job satisfaction and career advancement opportunities,” says Joanna Robson, Nursing Director of Public Healthcare Services at Mehiläinen.
“It’s an honour to be one of the best employers in the industry. Mehiläinen’s corporate culture strongly centres around the importance of caring and taking responsibility for our professionals. Developing skills and knowledge is part of continuous growth, regardless of whether you are a healthcare professional or, say, an application developer,” emphasises Iiro Heikkilä, Medical Director of Private Healthcare Services at Mehiläinen.
This year, the Best Practice Institute also recognised Mehiläinen’s long-term employer image work by awarding the company the international Most Loved Workplaces® certificate. With the certification, Mehiläinen also made it onto Newsweek’s list of the TOP 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces. In addition, healthcare students chose Mehiläinen as the most ideal workplace in the healthcare sector for the third year in a row in a student survey conducted by Universum.
